Paikallista hyvää tulossa!  Local good is coming!

Here's a sneak peak at my latest personal 'feelgood' project. It's all about enjoying a better quality coffee and doing good at the same time for your local community through the K-network of markets and supermarkets. Community coffee (Yhteisökahvi) is in the same price range as other similar small roastery coffees, however, for each coffee pack sold, 1,50 € is given to a seasonally changing good cause within the local area of that K-store.

We want to bring local communities together for good, raising up lesser known small local charities and organisations that wouldn't otherwise be able to get such wide visibility. The first good cause has been chosen, after that local K-Supermarket customers can suggest the next one using a simple polling system in the store's own SoMe channels.

"The concept and visual look of the campaign has been created by David Kaye together with the Helsinki Coffee Roastery. According to Kaye, the campaign interestingly combines the company’s desire to get people to drink better coffee while helping at the local level. He emphasizes the importance of connecting businesses, communities and consumers in the region. We constantly see news from far away, but sometimes we may forget that important things happen right in our neighbourhoods and communities."

If this pilot project goes well, hopefully it can be offered to all K-markets nationally, strengthening Kesko's 'Oman kylän kauppa' brand strategy and ultimately making sure that local good causes all over Finland can get their voice heard.

Special thanks to K-Supermarket Redi & Helsingin Kahvipaahtimo for believing in this concept and making this super project a reality. So good people, remember to drink well and do good for your local community. Cheers.

Seasonally, we bring one local good cause to the spotlight, who then receives € 1.50 / pack from the coffee sales.
Community coffee is coloboration between K-Supermarket Redi, local communities and Helsingin Kahvipaahtimo."

Each K-Market has its own local coverage, creating a network for highlighting good causes within their own community.
